Gemini Grounding with Google Search not working

Release v1.30.2, "Fixed the issue where Gemini 2.0 Flash model cannot use Grounding Tool" None of the Gemini models (e.g., Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash) work with Grounding in v1.36.1 (build 165). Is there a fix I can implement on my end or does this need a new release to fix?

This is a major issue for me, search is big for my workflow and I've had to start exploring alternatives that offer it. It's especially difficult if you're using OpenRouter, because apps just automatically remove the tool's accessibility if you don't select Gemini as the primary provider.

JD Santos: Thanks for the feedback. Though this bug is specifically for Google AI provider, not OpenRouter. Search plugin like brave etc should work with OpenRouter. I plan to add support for native OpenRoute search soon!
