This is a mix of a bug and a feature request.
When I start a chat in a language other than English, it always responds to me in English (tested only with Perplexity models). I know that I selected "Answer in Language" to "Default," but wouldn't it be more useful if "Default" is the language of the first prompt itself?

Yeah. I suspect the problem was in the default System Instruction. Can you try removing it?
The "Default" option really just means not injecting a custom prompt for the language output.
I'll try to fix this with some prompt hacking. For example: "Always answer in the same language as the user's input"
I tested this briefly but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, unfortunately.
