Better Implementation for Inline commands

I understand that the inline feature is very useful, but power users might need the flexibility to re-prompt and refine their output.
Currently, similar functionality is offered by other alternatives. We could improve the user experience by displaying a small box upon triggering the inline command. This box would include a text input field at the bottom, and at the top, users could cycle through previously generated versions.
I have attached the screenshot for mac's version of it, maybe we can take some inspiration from it.

Any timeline for this? A lot of apps are trying to do this. Currently, my inline AI app is Kerlig (super simple and clean). Having quick edits and searches without leaving the current application would make all the difference.
Check out Alter, Highlights AI – they do something similar too.

We don't really need a per-app approach, more like adding copied text into a context, shortcut to add the current screenshot, being able to activate MCP with @, then using a custom prompt and replacing text. That would be a good starting point.

I'm not sure if this is the main thread for tracking changes, as I see multiple similar tickets. Please let me know if I should move this conversation to the main thread.
